Sunset Beach Cottage is the full package. Tons of sleeping for multiple families yet masquerading as a cozy cottage providing families and friends the opportunity to create incredible memories for years to come. Poised near Susquehanna Point, this home offers its own private beach (high tide beach can be covered), dock, deeper water depth and the most incredible sunsets. The "property sisters" as we like to call them teamed up with their mom to totally freshen up this adorable vacation retreat that the family has enjoyed for close to 20 years. You can see their attention to detail in the beautiful yet casual decor. Everything your family needs - huge outdoor shower (we just love outdoor showers), fire pit, kayak provided, dock for crabbing, fishing, boating, spit of sandy beach during low and mid tide and about a 15 minute drive to the more swanky world of the Chesapeake Hyatt if the kids want to hang out for a while as the gals get some spa treatments. However, we think once you are on property it will be hard to tear yourself away. This home has been enjoyed by grandparents, parents and kids for almost 2 decades and is now uniquely available for you to make your own memories. Grab a beach towel, beach chair and some sunscreen - this cottage just screams vacation.

It really was the perfect house for our family vacation. It was comfortable and accessible enough for my 90 year old mother who spent a lot of time indoors. There was plenty of space and enough bathrooms for all the grandchildren and great grandchildren. The beach and dock were spectacular. It is aptly names: every single sunset was amazing!

Team members were uniformly friendly and polite -- very nice to work with.
My only suggestion would be to provide some information a bit further ahead -- the check out directions came towards the end of the stay via email. It would have been nice to have had a copy ahead of time so that we knew how to handle things before heading to the property. The lack of early info just made for a bit of uncertainty in planning our final day. The email would have been a great reminder -- but an earlier first notice would be useful. Similarly, the access code was not included in the welcome packet (though it did come in the initial confirmation) -- it would have been nice to have had all of this info in one place (admittedly, I could be showing my age -- I like to print this stuff out ahead of time to take along as backup).
These are suggestions -- not complaints :). We had a very good experience overall.
The property was lovely. It was very nicely appointed and the layout did a great job of accommodating a household with parents, adult children, partners and grandchild. We had plenty of room to congregate and plenty of room to spread out - the perfect mix.
The physical location was not immediately convenient to amenities (restaurants, etc) -- but the setting was so beautiful that we all opted to bring food in rather than leave the property for dinner -- we already had the best view around.
While the kitchen and some of the bathrooms were a bit dated, they were also very clean and functional and in no way detracted from the overall impression of the property. The furnishings were very nicely done.
One possible modification to the property description -- we were able to do some great swimming off of the property. The bay was warm and the water was clear (other than one day with some jellyfish sighting) -- and shallow enough that our grandson was able to go in the water safely (with supervision of course). This (and the great kayaking) was a major part of the stay -- it wasn't clear from the description just how easily we could swim off of the property.

This property was everything we expected and more. There are so many small details around the house that make it very personal, comfortable, and cozy. It was our first experience of this type so we brought a lot of things in case it was not provided in the house. We did not have to bring anything as the house had practically everything. It was easy to hook up our laptop to the sound system and TV, so we were able to enjoy the slideshows we prepared. The beds were very comfortable, all appliances worked, and the house was very clean. The wi-fi connection worked perfectly. We also appreciated the quiet spots that can be found around the house if you want to take a moment away from the rest of the crowd. Francisco and Jessie from ESVR were very accommodating and answered all questions. We look forward to staying there again in the future.
