Reservations

Our office is located at 28282 St. Michaels Road (Rt 33)in Easton MD. We are less then 5 miles from the Rt. 50 and Rt. 322/Easton Bypass Intersection. All reservations are subject to a $65 administrative fee, a 5% Maryland state tax and a 4% County accommodation tax. Occupancy/Overcrowding

Most of Talbot County does not have a central sewage system. All ESVR properties have individual septic systems which are permitted by the Health Department for maximum occupancy in the cottage. Unless otherwise noted in the cottage description, ESVR follows the Talbot County Health Department regulations which assume an occupancy of two persons per bedroom. In no instance should occupancy exceed the bedding accommodations provided with the home. Overcrowding is a serious situation and is grounds for immediate eviction. Please do not jeopardize your family and friends' vacation by overcrowding. If you need to rent a second cottage to allow for the members in your group, please do so!

Payments

One-half of the total rent is due within 10 days of making a reservation. The balance is due 30 days prior to the arrival date. Payments for advance deposits can be made by credit card, check, money order or certified check. For reservations made within 30 days of the arrival date, payment must be made by money order, certified check, Visa or Discover. Personal checks are not accepted within 30 days of the arrival date. Please remember to put your reservation number on your check or money order. Please mark your calendar with your payment schedule, as we do not send out reminders. If any deposit or portion of the deposit is not received by the specified due date, your reservation may be cancelled and the property released for general sale. A $30 bank charge will be assessed for all returned checks. A confirmation lease agreement will be mailed or faxed to you. Please read the lease carefully, sign and return it along with the other appropriate paperwork within 10 days of making your reservation. Many of you will vacation with other family members or friends, but only one person signs the lease. We hold the leaseholder responsible for payment and all of the responsibilities spelled out in the lease.

Cancellations & Reservation Charges

If you need to cancel your reservation please let us know immediately.  We will attempt to re-rent your vacation home. If we are able to do so at the full rental rate, you will be returned all monies paid less nonrefundable fees and a $100 Cancellation Fee. If we are able to re-rent your week but at less than the full amount of your reservation, your refund will be prorated to reflect the difference of the lower rental rate. Cancellations within 30 days of check-in date are subject to forfeiture of 100% of your rent. A change of rental dates for the same cottage during the current calendar year is considered a cancellation. PLEASE consider Travel Protection Insurance to avoid some of the risks associated with the necessity of cancellation.

Family Groups Welcome

All of our vacation homes are privately owned; therefore, occupants are limited to family groups only. NO SORORITIES, FRATERNITIES, WEDDING RECEPTIONS, SPRING BREAK PARTIES, or other such group.  You must be 24 years of age or older to obtain a rental agreement on a property and anyone under the age of 24 MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY A PARENT.  Should a group misrepresent themselves, they will be evicted immediately without a refund.

Bring Your Best Friend

There is no need to leave Rover in a cramped kennel while you are enjoying the Eastern Shore. There are many homes that welcome your dog to vacation with you for a designated fee. To find pet homes look for the pet symbol. In most homes, pets are limited to two domestic, housebroken dogs. There is a $75.00 non-refundable pet fee for each dog; this fee should appear on your contract. Let us know when making your reservation if your furry friend is coming along. Please abide by the pet rules, which will be in your arrival key packet. Pets in non-pet homes are strictly forbidden and will result in eviction. Pets in pet homes must be registered on your lease agreement and paid for prior to your arrival.

Weekend/Partial Week Stays

Some of our homes are made available to rent for less than a full week during the summer after Memorial Day.   In most cases, there is a nightly minimum depending on the season, and cleaning fees apply.

Telephones/Cell Phone Coverage

All ESVR properties are equipped with telephones. Most telephones are programmed with restrictive dialing which means all long distance calls will automatically ring to an operator ("operator assisted" rates apply ) who will request a method of charge from you (i.e. credit or collect). Please do not attempt to charge any calls to the cottage. Should you do so, a collection fee of $20 plus the cost of the call will be billed to the lessee.  If cell phone coverage is imperative, please check with your guest services representative about the specific property well in advance, as cell phone coverage is varied along the Eastern Shore and not every property has good reception.

High Speed Internet Access

ESVR encourages all properties to have some type of high speed internet access, however, in some areas, it is simply not available.  High speed internet access is noted as an amenity on our website for each specific property.  If it is not noted, the property does not have it.  ESVR can refer you to one of the local internet cafes if necessary.

Televisions

All properties are equipped with TVs, and most have VCRs and DVD players. No refunds will be given due to TVs, VCRs, or DVD players under repair. However, we will provide a loaner if the home's only TV, VCR, or DVD player is out for repair (subject to availability). Cottages with multiple TVs, VCRs, and DVD players will not be provided with a loaner.

 Air Conditioning

Unless noted in the description, all homes are equipped with either central air conditioning or window units. Please be aware that some of our homes are historic in nature and may not have central air.  If you are not sure your selected cottage has A/C, please ask. Absolutely no AC units may be brought into any home. DUE TO THE LIMITATION OF AVAILABLE REPAIR SERVICES AND EQUIPMENT, THERE IS NO GUARANTEE THAT A/C WILL BE REPAIRED QUICKLY.

Kitchens

All kitchens are adequately stocked for everyday meal preparation and serving. You can expect to find the following items for at least the maximum occupancy: coffee maker, toaster, dishes, glasses, coffee mugs, flatware, serving dishes, pots and pans and cooking utensils. Extra kitchen items are provided according to the individual owner's preferences, not according to the size, location, or price of the home. If you are planning special meal preparations you should bring such items as: blender, food processor, extra large or specialty pots and pans, chef's knives, specialty cooking utensils, etc.

Docks

Docks may be private or community. Please call reservations to verify dock water depth and amenities.
A private dock is accessible only to the occupants of the single house and may accommodate 1-2 boats. Please contact our reservation department if you have any question regarding this. The owner's boat may be docked at the pier but is not available for the guest's use. Please do not disturb or board the boat.

Hot Tubs and Private Pools

Many of our homes offer private hot tubs and pools. For week long reservations, a hot tub technician will stop by the home to check the hot tub and make any necessary adjustments. Private pools are cleaned and tested weekly to provide optimum water quality. If there are any problems with the hot tub and/or swimming pool including any mechanical, electrical or chemical problem, please call Eastern Shore Rentals, LLC immediately. Do not enter the hot tub and/or swimming pool.

Emergency Services

The essence of your vacation is to enjoy yourself, so we will make every effort to remedy "displeasing" situations and correct any problems you may experience in a timely manner. Please report any inoperative equipment or problems to our promptly. Please understand that certain emergencies do take precedence. For after-hours emergencies, you can call our local office phone number of 410-770-9093 or 1-866-398-2722 and follow the directions for paging our on-call staff. This is for emergency maintenance situations only! For medical emergencies, dial 911. For non-emergency situations, please call during office hours or leave a detailed message. You can expect a courteous and professional staff to help remedy these situations; however, refunds will not be issued due to malfunctioning equipment or other guest dissatisfaction.

Mid Week Cleaning

Eastern Shore Rentals is glad to offer Mid-Week cleaning services to spruce up the property during your stay.  Your vacation home will be clean as can be when you arrive, but a week of frolicking in the pool and/or the bay can take its toll on the neatest of homes. We know you are on vacation, so who wants to clean?

If you wish to schedule a Mid-Week Clean, just give us a call after you get settled in.

Pre-Reservations

We can book your Eastern Shore Vacation Rentals, vacation one full year in advance-book NOW for best selection! Eastern Shore Rentals offers you FIRST RIGHTS to book the property you stay in this year, for the same time frame the next year. If you wish to confirm your reservation for the same property the following year, you have first right to book that property for the same dates for the next year until 5 p.m. the Tuesday following your arrival date. All properties will be available to the general public each Thursday at 9 a.m. If you wish to reserve a different home, you will have the opportunity to finalize your plans on the Thursday or Friday of your vacation. We will not be available to make reservations on Saturdays or Sundays due to the busy pace of the day (in the summer seasons). Please check with Eastern Shore Vacation Rentals for rates and availability.

Miscellaneous

Boat Trailers:  Parking of boat trailers may be prohibited in some neighborhoods/properties.  Check with your guest services representative.
Residential Parking: Parking anywhere other than the driveway provided is prohibited. Nearly all of our homes have septic drain fields that could be damaged.
Fireplaces/Firepits:  Some of our homes have fireplaces.  No outdoor fires unless in a specifically provided firepit.   Firewood is not provided.
Grills: All properties should be outfitted with either a propane or charcoal grill, and will be noted which on the property amenity sheet.  Charcoal grilling is not permitted on decks, on porches, or close to the house.  Replacement tanks for the propane grill should be at the property.  If not, please save your receipt when refilling and ESVR will reimburse.
Furniture: Rearranging furniture or taking inside furniture or electronics outside is not allowed.
Fireworks: All fireworks around homes are prohibited. Talbot County has strict regulations & fines regarding the use of fireworks.
Jet Skis: Although jet skis are permitted at most properties, please be a good neighbor and wait until you are in open water to “rev up” and limit use to acceptable daytime hours.
Voices Carry:  The water magnifies and carries sounds across the cove and down the river.  Please keep outdoor noise to a minimum, keep dogs from excessive barking and watch the use of radios, etc. when outdoors.  Even if you can’t see your neighbors, they can probably hear you!
