The Swans Rest vacation home is the "easy button". No surprises, everything upgraded and well decorated. Full onsite amenities - check out the waterfront Adirondack chairs, we love those. Waterfront pool, grilling deck, 2 single kayaks, dock for fishing and crabbing and newly appointed everything. With over 4,000 square feet Swans Rest gives everyone space to be together and solo. The screened porch is one of our favorite rooms, waterfront with great views and close to the fabulous kitchen for late morning breakfast or an al fresco evening. imagine a sunset drink while stoking the fire in the firepit provided. Less than 6 miles from St Michaels and Easton, take your pick of visiting each town's farmers markets for the freshest produce and food the locals can offer - bring bikes because the roads are flat and the shoulders are generous making for great exercise into town to earn a lunch at Masons or Avas Wood Burning Pizzeria. Vacationing in privacy on slightly over 4 acres but within minutes to the Eastern Shore's two most popular towns is the "easy button". Come any season, a Swan's Rest vacation will leave you refreshed.

ESVR makes everything very easy -- helping to find the right rental for us, the ease of check in and out, handling of any issues, etc. Having said all the things in my response to #8, I want to mention the positive features of the property that we liked: the small fenced area to let the dog out without him running all over the big property when we didn't want him to; the canoe and kayaks; the sun on the pool in the afternoon; the view from the kitchen and family room (we stayed in Grace Creek Cottage last year and there are no views of the water from anywhere, really, in that house); the fire pit; the huge yard (great for wiffle ball or buoy ball!).

Swann's Rest was even more than we expected. The setting was beautiful and the house provided plenty of room for the five of us. I was particularly pleased to find the side yards fenced so my dogs couldn't wander off. We had a terrific time and look forward to a return visit.

This was our first vacation at Maryland's Eastern Shore and we absolutely loved it. Swan's Rest is a lovely home that is beautifully furnished, has a very well stocked kitchen, and a screened-in porch which became our favorite family gathering spot. The grandchildren loved the pool, had great fun fishing off the dock, and looked forward to making s'mores at the burning pit each night. How lucky for us that the owners are willing to share this fabulous get-away. We also can't say enough good things about Eastern Shore Vacation Rentals. They helped to make our vacation a truly pleasurable and relaxing event.

From the wonderful location, easy access, gorgeous grounds, dock, pool, and amenities galore, a stay at the Swan's Rest is the very definition of the "Easy Button". We biked, ran, canoed, kayaked, sailed, fished, crabbed, and explored, all from the house, and delighted in every minute of it. An incredible vacation experience for all - would highly recommend, and would definitely stay there again.

Our vacation was pretty wonderful. The only 5 complaints that I have are
1 difficult access to get kayaks in the water
2 I think this property should provide large towels/beach towels
3 the quality of the bath towels should be more plush
4 the sheets in the master bedroom would not stay on the bed
5 there were only 4 pool didn't make a difference to us because there were only my husband and myself and only 2 of my kids ended coming just for a few days

About the Area - St. Michaels

During the War of 1812, St. Michaels gained its name as "the town that fooled the British". The residents of St. Michaels, having been forewarned that British barges were positioned on the waters to attack with cannon fire, hoisted lanterns into the trees above the city. This first successful "blackout" fooled the British into overshooting the town's houses and shipyards. Only one house, forever since known as Cannonball House, was struck. The industry was largely concentrated around shipbuil...
